After their conversation, Number Two picked up Ares and walked toward the corridor. Beyondbear and the puppy hurried to follow, leaving only Number Three behind to watch the house. The group took the elevator down, boarded the submarine, and left the island. The large truck they had hijacked last time was surprisingly still parked on the beach. However, two homeless men were now living in it. The moment they saw Daechir and the others, they shouted, "This is our territory now, get out of the truck!"
Daechir held her nose and, without a word, pushed the two men out the door. As they tried to rush back onto the truck, Number Two put Ares down and kicked each man in the chest. They staggered backward and fell, sitting on the sand. Feeling the sea breeze once again, Beyondbear's spirits were a little low. The tattered clothes and half-empty drinks left by the two homeless men were all thrown out of the window by Number Two.
Everyone sat down, but no one got up to drive.
"My legs are too short, I can't drive," Ares said.
Beyondbear volunteered, "I'll do it!"
Ares couldn't help but ask, "Do you know how?"
"I probably shouldn't," Beyondbear said, scratching his head.
Number Two pointed at Daechir. "Let her drive. I have to take care of the master," she said, planting a kiss on Ares's cheek.
"What a virtuous woman," Ares praised sincerely. Number Two's appearance was very plain; she had been initially created only to complete secret missions. Except for her exposed parts, which were covered in artificial skin, the rest of her body was all alloy. Ares wanted to make her more human but wasn't skilled in that area. He hoped to ask Daechir for help with an upgrade when he had the chance.
Daechir had always considered driving a menial job, and as a noble robot, how could she do such a thing? She got out of the truck and asked the two homeless men, "Which one of you can drive?"
One of them raised his hand. "I used to be a driver."
"Good. Go take a bath first, and when you're clean, you can drive for me."
"Why should I help you?" the homeless man asked.
Daechir pulled a gold coin from her pocket. "Is this enough?"
The man was overjoyed and immediately rushed into the sea. The other one pointed to himself and asked, "What about me?"
"What can you do?"
"I used to be a novelist."
"Useless. Scram!"
With the homeless man as a driver, the truck finally started moving. Beyondbear, watching Ares and Number Two gaze at each other affectionately, asked, "Oh Buddha, why don't I have a woman?"
Ares pointed at Daechir. "How about her as your girlfriend?"
"Okay! Okay!" Beyondbear nodded frantically. He turned and wrapped his arms around her.
"Let go of me, you disgusting tall oaf!" Daechir cursed, both embarrassed and angry. Her face was flushed red, but her hands were pinned. She had no choice but to stomp on his foot. With a cry of "Ah!", Beyondbear let go in pain. Daechir grabbed his neck in a reverse grip and said angrily, "If you dare be disrespectful to me again, I'll kill you!"
Beyondbear was thoroughly frightened, thinking to himself, "This woman is incredibly strong."
Ares didn't dare to joke around anymore; he knew Daechir was truly angry this time. The rest of the journey was silent. After driving for more than thirty hours, they finally arrived at Taco Town. Everyone got out of the truck. Ares rode on the dog's back with Number Two by his side.
Daechir asked, "Where are we going to find her?"
"I don't know the specific location. We'll have to ask around."
"How many people are in this town?"
"Probably over three thousand."
Just as they were about to split up to search, De Silva walked toward them. He had just left Alice's place and was on his way back to Zi City. As soon as he saw Daechir, he exclaimed, "How dare you show your face here? The police are looking for you everywhere."
"Where is Alice? Do you know?"
De Silva didn't answer, debating whether he should tell them. At that moment, Vega was on the third floor and happened to see them talking. She immediately called the police. Without notifying Alice, she ran downstairs alone, preparing to hide.
Alice only knew Daechir's group had arrived because Uwa had warned her. Uwa told her to hide, but she came downstairs anyway, and Uwa had no choice but to follow. When she saw Beyondbear, she exclaimed, "What are you doing here?" Beyondbear didn't want to talk and stood off to the side in silence.
Seeing Alice come out on her own, Daechir said, "It seems you haven't forgotten what I said." Then she asked, "Where is Vega?"
"She should still be upstairs."
"Good. Take me to her."
As they were going upstairs, the police had already surrounded the building. De Silva said resentfully, "Vega must have called the police."
Alice immediately objected, "You have no proof, don't talk nonsense."
"Then where is she?" Daechir interjected.
The loudspeaker outside started blaring again, this time calling them out by name. "Vicious criminal Daechir, you are surrounded! Release all hostages immediately!"
Everyone looked bewildered, wondering who the hostages were. Thinking quickly, De Silva said, "Except for Daechir, the rest of us will act as her hostages."
The vagrant driver was the first to step up. "I want to be a hostage."
But Ares said, "That won't work. Beyondbear and I have already been exposed."
To avoid being caught, Vega had hidden in the police station, her excuse being that Daechir was trying to kill her. She had fabricated the hostage story when she called the police. The broadcast below repeated endlessly, grating on everyone's nerves.
Daechir took Alice's hand and started walking downstairs.
De Silva asked, "Where are you going?"
"Since you are all my hostages, form a circle around me to protect me. We're going back to the truck."
"But we still don't know where Vega is."
"I'll catch her eventually."
Uwa ran over to stop them. "I can't let you take Alice away."
"Who are you?" Daechir asked.
"I am her friend, a very close friend." Alice blushed and quickly explained, "This lady saved my life. Her name is Uwa."
Hearing this, Daechir deemed her insignificant and snapped, "Get lost!" pushing Uwa aside.
Enraged, Uwa pulled out a gun and aimed it at Daechir's head. Beyondbear, unable to watch any longer, grabbed her in a hug and shouted, "Don't do anything rash, she's my girlfriend!"
Held by her own son, Uwa couldn't move. Ares praised from the side, "Beyondbear, well done! Keep it up, your woman will surely fall in love with you after being so moved."
"Buddha, thank you for your encouragement."
Daechir shook her head and led Alice downstairs. The others followed. The moment they appeared, the atmosphere became tense. The broadcast was still repeating the same message. The vagrant driver suddenly ran out, shouting, "These people are all in it together!"
